Mark Broome is a seasoned construction and maintenance professional with decades of hands-on experience working with commercial properties, self-service car washes, and small business operations. A lifelong resident of Cabarrus County, Mark attended Central Cabarrus High School and began his career early, developing the practical, hands-on approach that still defines his work today.
Mark’s first job was with UPS, where he worked as a loader at the North Graham Street facility. He later spent time with a landscaping company before joining Whitley’s Car Wash in 1984 under the mentorship of Donald “Don” Whitley. Working alongside Don, Mark helped support a portfolio that included laundromats, self-service car washes, and retail properties.
Because much of the work was completed in-house, Mark developed experience across nearly every trade—from carpentry, electrical work, and plumbing to equipment maintenance, roofing, flooring, and painting. This hands-on environment shaped his ability to diagnose problems, manage repairs, and complete projects efficiently.
Outside of work, Mark has been active in the community through youth sports and enjoys spending time with his wife, Leigh, and their family.
